You regularly see the term home automation on TV in programs such as “Eigen Huis en Tuin” and “House Vision”, but what exactly is home automation?
When you analyze the term you arrive at an electronic house. The term “home automation” is a combination of the words “domus” and “electronics”. Domus means house in Latin. Literally it means the control of electrical appliances in a house/building by electronics and IT.
Is home automation limited to controlling the lighting as is often shown? The answer to this is no. In practice it goes much further. An integrated system ensures an increase in comfort, convenience, flexibility, communication and safety. Awareness of the home through sensors is also part of this.

You come home tired from work in the evening. A lot has happened today to think about. As you drive your car into the street, the exterior lights automatically turn on.
