Mowing the lawn

As you before could read, I only mowed the lawn the first evening I was supposed to blog. Since we don’t have a mowing robot yet, and the grass has to be mowed the first few times with the ’normal’ lawn mower, it takes quite some time.
In the meantime I have mowed it twice: The first time not too short, that seems not to be allowed. The advice was to only mow it when it had a length of about 10 cm and then not to mow it shorter than 4 to 5 cm.
We were a bit anxious about all those weeds in the grass. Most of the green came from the weeds. After mowing twice now, it is already starting to look more like grass and the weeds seem to be losing out.
Robotic lawn mowers
When the entire garden was still a large construction site, we had already talked about lawn mowers. We already suspected that mowing the lawn once or twice a week would quickly get boring. At that moment we already decided that there would be a robotic lawnmower.
Fast-forward to last week. After mowing with the motor mower for the first time (fortunately), I started researching motor mowers. I can now very well imagine that mowing the lawn twice every week will quickly become annoying.
Since there is quite a difference in the types and brands of robotic lawnmowers, we have drawn up a list of requirements that the robotic lawnmower you purchase must meet:
- must be suitable for at least 800 m2
- must have anti-theft functions (minimum PIN code)
- Preferably he works systematically rather than randomly, so that everything is neatly mowed
- It can handle multiple zones with grass
- it goes to its charging station itself when necessary
- a WiFi+app would be a nice plus
So now it’s looking at brochures, looking at websites, comparing prices and features. In a next article I will discuss the different brands and types of robotic lawnmowers in more detail and who knows, we may have even been able to make a choice.
