Information while you wait

To wait. Everyone hates it. And then you also get a hold music that you don’t want. Wouldn’t it be nice if, instead of music, you received information specifically applicable to you?

Some things cannot be arranged over the internet, or are easier if you call the supplier or service provider. The disadvantage of this is that in most cases you have to wade through a lengthy menu.

‘Press 1 for your subscription, press 2 for technical questions’. ‘Press 1 for your invoice, press 2 for..’ etc. etc.

That can also be done differently

Imagine: You log in to a web portal… oh no, we were talking about that rare time you still have to make a phone call.

Technically it shouldn’t be difficult. Everything is already known about you. Link the callerID to the system and you will receive applied information. A phone call could also go like this:

You call for a malfunction, let’s say Ziggo. You hear that you have to wait a little longer. Meanwhile, the computer on the other end already knows who is on the phone. After all, you are calling from your own mobile phone. To be sure, you will be asked for your PIN code. This way they can be sure that not only your phone is being used, but also that it is you.

After you have entered your PIN code, the most recent and relevant information will be requested. You have an All-in-One subscription with Ziggo, so you will now hear when the last debit was made. In the meantime, it is checked whether there is access to your modem. That is not the case. You will be advised to restart your modem and stay on the line. Apparently that helped. Your problem is solved without anyone answering the phone.

If the problem is not resolved, you may get someone on the phone. Man is a link in the process. There are already companies that do it this way.

Wouldn’t it be useful if they all did that? Getting someone on the phone when necessary, but not waiting aimlessly in a queue with vague, poorly recorded music?

I’m for it!
