Attic preparations

Well, the time has finally come: Tomorrow we’re going to have a big clean-up.

While our house was being built and we lived in the mobile home, we stored our belongings with both mothers. Now that we have lived in our home for almost a year, it is time to rigorously go through our things to see what we really want to keep. After all, we’ve barely used a lot of stuff in the past two years.

To ensure that we can immediately tidy up the things we keep, I plan to make some useful things in the attic.

Where are we going to put all those boxes?

I have already made a cupboard for the attic. About four moving boxes fit in here (yes, I assume that moving boxes will be moved with us, without us being able to say goodbye to them).

As you can see, it has a sloping ceiling, which leaves us with a lot of empty space behind the cupboard. There are also pipes in that room, so we can’t place things all the way to the back. To solve this, I made a kind of floor above the pipes, so that we can use that space. I plan the same for the rest of the attic.

Today I sawed and glued all the necessary wood for this. As soon as everything is in the attic, I will certainly post a photo of it, as well as a drawing of the floor, including the dimensions.
