It’s quite peculiar.. You start working at the agency that has to collect fines and everyone immediately thinks that you can filter out their ticket from the system.

Besides the question of whether I can actually do it, I think the question you should ask is whether you really want to. As a system administrator, you generally have more rights than an average user. Usually, you can access all systems and you can also make changes in them.

Of course, this also brings a bit of responsibility. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. You were hired because people think they can trust you. Making a change remains a crime, just like forging documents.

Not that changing fines goes unnoticed. All changes made are visible, including who made the change.

All in all, I do now have a nice list of license plates from various colleagues.. Always handy ;)
