You can think what you like, but I cannot imagine life without coffee. You would think I’d be ’trained’ by now to get new coffee in time or place an order. Far from it. It even happens that the last coffee goes into the coffee machine while I haven’t ordered new ones yet. And a

day without coffee is a day not lived. When I received NFC tags with my Switchbot order, I knew exactly what I was going to do with them: Automate the coffee ordering process using an NFC tag in Home Assistant.

I regularly post photos on Instagram. This post contains information about the picture, where it was taken and why, and, if relevant, how I edited the photo.

I love coffee. Preferably delicious coffee. But if that’s not available, something that resembles it will do. In my opinion, besides taste, imagination and empathy are very important when it comes to food and drinks. That doesn’t mean I’m not picky about which coffee I drink more than once.

A cup of coffee for the mood

Today is another one of those days. Walking through the house like a zombie. Only after the much-needed cup of coffee can you expect any sort of serious reaction from me. Rita Corita sang it back in 1958: ‘Coffee, coffee, how a person perks up from it.’ I think this applies to more people. The Dutch drink an average of 3.2 cups of coffee per day. Other figures talk about 150 liters of coffee per person per year. Coffee is therefore the most consumed beverage in the Netherlands. The fact that music has been made about coffee indicates to me just how important coffee is.
